Right in the middle of Winter, Caloundra hosted the much-anticipated Winter Wunderland street party, and what a spectacular event it was! Bulcock Street was packed as families, children, and adults flocked to the CBD. The Winter Wunderland street party was a free event aiming to bring the community together to celebrate [Queensland’s short lived] winter, and it surely delivered beyond expectations.
There was something for everyone, from bustling markets filled with unique handmade treasures and delicious treats, free face painting, extended retail trade, delectable dishes from our local restaurants, and an array of live performances that included talented local artists and community groups. Was there a blizzard in Felicity Park? Snow and fog had kids and adults beaming with joy – a treat for our playground by the sea usually focused on the sun, sand and sea. The snow storm was undoubtedly the highlight of the event and a thrilling experience shared by all.
The lineup of performers was fun-filled and left the crowd with smiles all round. The Aussie World Singers had their musical arrangements captivated the crowds. SCPAC Dancers mesmerised the audience with their perfectly synchronized choreography and what about that sass! Further up the street the Coastal Caring Clowns’ amused and interacted with a captivated audience and filled the street with laughter. Rhythm Culture thrilled the audience with an authentic display of African drumming and Fire Twirler Mattstafa closed the show with a flaming finale we’ll be talking about for quite a while!
The event was showered with positivity, and everyone had a fantastic time. Winter Wunderland Street Party offered an opportunity for local vendors to showcase their products and services, and it allowed both residents and visitors alike to enjoy the chilly weather together.
The best part of Winter Wunderland Street Party is how the event brought people together for memories and smiles all round. The event fostered a true sense of community spirit that shone through every aspect of the evening. Everyone embraced the opportunity to have fun and enjoy the special night of entertainment.
