Tempestuous Skies Mozart
21 August @ 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra’s Tempestuous Skies reveals the many faces of Mozart, from Don Giovanni’s doom to the much-loved Piano Concerto No 23 – with Neal Peres Da Costa as fortepiano soloist – and the triumphant Jupiter Symphony.
Mozart’s Jupiter symphony is one of the greatest pieces ever written. His final symphony, it is a grand statement from a visionary composer and followed hard on the heels of his greatest operas. The overture to Don Giovanni bristles with passion and intrigue, foreshadowing the dramatic tale to come. Serenata Notturna was written as a piece for evenings, possibly to be performed outside, among all the other stars.
This program will feature selected emerging performers from the Young Mannheim Symphonists youth orchestra who will perform alongside the professional musicians of the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra.
IMPORTANT TICKETING INFORMATION: The orchestra will be located standing on the flat floor at the same level as the flat floor seating. (In front of the stage and not at stage level). The first row of seating for this performance is LL.
