Downunder Beachfest 2019

Attraction to the “chrome bumper” era is universal; it knows no age or gender barriers and has few critics. Ryno Insurance Downunder Beachfest is run for people passionate about ‘Hot Rods, big fins and chrome. With the first event held at Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 2015, you wouldn’t think it was 4 years ago this year. Ryno Insurance Downunder Beachfest is a tribute to this era; a festival featuring the hot rods, classic cars and motorcycles that were built before 1983. And, of course, there is the classic music of the era performed by bands who remember what ‘Brylcreem’ and ‘vinyl records’ are.

Ryno Insurance Downunder Beachfest is run by people passionate about ‘all things automotive and chrome’.

People whose lives revolve around the passion of collecting, building, showing and driving these vehicles.

People who understand the ‘head-turning’ charisma of these classics.

Whether you’re into Hot Rods, Classic Cars, Muscle Cars, Classic Motorcycles, even Classic Caravans (as long as it was built prior to 1983), Ryno Insurance Downunder Beachfest is the only place to be.

From 8.00am – Ryno Insurance presents ‘Breakfast on the Passage’ for our early bird entrants at Caloundra Power Boat Club, Golden Beach.

10.00am – 12 noon – Entry Check-in, Kings Beach Tavern.

1.00 – 4.30pm – Free time to ‘chill’ or visit the Sunshine Coast’s many attractions.

6.30 – 9.30pm – Bulcock Street “Street is Neat Under Lites” street party, food / coffee / cool cars & music by “Old 45’s”, presented by the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce.

Friday 7 June 2019

9.30am – 12 noon – Entry Check-in, Kings Beach Tavern.

11.30am – Poker Run, hosted by Suncoast Rod and Custom, departure point TBA.

Friday Evening – Fuel Doctor Cruise Nite. Dress up your ride and enter the Super Cruise to win some serious cash for the best themed / presented “Cruiser”. Limited to 100 entries, so register early.

Saturday 8 June 2019

9.00am – 4.00pm: Street Spectacular in Bulcock Street, Caloundra sponsored by Caloundra RSL . All entrant vehicles are required to remain in the street until 4pm.

Saturday Evening – Turn on the car radio (to Sunshine FM), grab your girl, clip on the foxtails and CRUISE IT like it’s the ‘60’s! Plenty of restaurant and cafe options – browse the business listings.

9.30am – 1.00pm: The Super Sunday at the Caloundra Cricket Club sponsored by Autobarn Kawana Waters – cars, bikes, music, food, fun, trade stalls, Hot Wheels racing, rocker cover racing, radio controlled car racing and fun! 8am breakfast available. Trophy presentation 1pm.

6:00pm – late : Dinner & Dance at Caloundra RSL.
